4.6 Your Military Choices
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery Test, ASVAB,
is required of all individuals who are considering the military as a career
path. This test measures your natural abilities and assists the armed
services in making the proper training placement for you. Sample
test.
Aptitude can be defined as capabilities you have developed that indicate your
readiness to become proficient in a certain type of activity (given the
opportunity.) This may refer to your capacity to learn a particular type of
work, or to your potential for general training. The ASVAB measures aptitudes
that are related to success in different jobs.
